Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Bonanza is Chuck Wagner's answer to an expensive Caymus. It's made by the same family, sells for a fraction of the price, and carries a lot number on the label instead of a vintage.

The idea behind it is fruit from vineyards that are often overlooked but can still make good Cabernet. Most of the grapes come from Lodi, and each lot blends several vineyards and harvests, which is why there's no year on the bottle. It has taken off fast: sales went from about 131,000 cases in 2020 to nearly 360,000 in 2023.

The winery describes dark fruit and dark chocolate with silky tannins. It has the ripe, round style of the Wagner family's other wines.
