Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021 750ml

Kathryn and Craig Hall own HALL, with wineries in St. Helena and Rutherford; the St. Helena estate includes the historic Bergfeld winery, built in 1885. This Napa Valley Cabernet is the house's entry point.

The 2021 is Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, and the winery says its tannins are supported by French oak. At 15.4% alcohol it's a big, ripe style.

The winery describes deep garnet color, dark fruit with a hint of grilled herbs, a concentrated, dense palate with firm tannins, and a complex, integrated finish.

For a bold Napa Cabernet for a steak dinner, this is a good choice. For something more restrained, try Clos du Val.

Decant it for an hour and serve it a little cool, around 62°F. A ribeye or braised short ribs suit it.
