Crown Royal XO Canadian Whisky 750ml

Crown Royal XO takes the house's blend of 50 whiskies and finishes it in casks that held Cognac. That French brandy influence makes it richer and fruitier than the standard Crown.

The Cognac casks add dried fruit and a little spice to Crown Royal's smooth, light style. The nose has vanilla, caramel and baked apple; the palate is rounded and balanced, with rich dried fruit and spice; and the finish is long and gentle. It's bottled at 40%.

It's the step up from Crown Royal Deluxe for sipping rather than mixing. For a Taiwanese single malt at a similar price, try Kavalan Distillery Select.

Serve it neat or on the rocks. It also makes a smooth Manhattan with sweet vermouth and a dash of orange bitters.
