Dom Pérignon Damien Hirst Limited Edition 2018 is a vintage Champagne from France, a blend of 54% Chardonnay and 46% Pinot Noir. This 2026 release comes with a deep-blue label and gift box designed by Damien Hirst, taken from his Kaleidoscope series.
Dom Pérignon is the prestige Champagne of Moët & Chandon, named after the 17th-century Benedictine monk of the Abbey of Hautvillers and made only in chosen years since its first vintage, 1921. The 2018 is the first vintage made by cellar master Vincent Chaperon on his own, and it spent nearly eight years on its lees.
Expect white flowers, lemon zest and ripe stone fruit, with fine bubbles, chalky minerality and a long, salty finish. James Suckling gives it 99 points, Vinous 98 and Wine Advocate 94.
Most Champagne is non-vintage, blended across several harvests for a steady house style. Dom Pérignon is always a single year's harvest, so each release shows its vintage.
Serve well chilled (9–11°C) in a white-wine glass rather than a flute, with oysters, shellfish, white fish or roast chicken. It drinks well now and will keep developing for years.

James Suckling
"Very floral aromas with jasmine, honeysuckle, lemons and subtle apples. Lavender as well. The medium-bodied palate has super-integrated bubbles, a touch of fine phenolics and a racy, lively finish. Weightless and refined for the vintage. The aftertaste includes ginger, dried apples, lychees, bitter lemons and minerals. 54% chardonnay and 46% pinot noir. Dosage 4.5 g/L." |

The 2018 Dom Pérignon is a total stunner. Bright and crystalline in the glass, the 2018 sizzles with mineral-drenched tension. Citrus peel, chalk, white flowers and slate are some of the many nuances that open with a bit of coaxing. The 2018 will need a few years to start hitting its stride, but it is super-impressive in the early going. Stylistically, it reminds me of the 2004 (also a high-yielding vintage) in its slender, lithe build. |
