Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Champagne 2018 750ml

La Grande Dame is Veuve Clicquot's prestige cuvée, named for Barbe-Nicole Clicquot, who ran the house from 1805 and is credited with the first vintage Champagne in 1810.

The 2018 is the 25th vintage of La Grande Dame: 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay from eight historic Grand Cru vineyards, with a low dosage of 6 grams per liter. The house calls 2018 a sunny vintage that brought fully ripe grapes. Didier Mariotti, the house's 11th cellar master, made it in Reims.

Veuve describes lemon, lime and yuzu, white fruit and flowers, with depth, precision, freshness and a saline edge.

The house says to serve it at 10 to 12°C, with scallop carpaccio or linguine with shellfish, and that it will age 15 years or more.
