The Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak is matured only in oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez, Spain, and bottled at 43%. Macallan, on its estate at Easter Elchies in Speyside, is one of the best-known names in single malt.

The sherry casks give the house style its depth: dried fruit, vanilla and warm spice on the nose, then rich raisin, ginger, toffee and orange on a full, smooth palate, with a medium finish of sweet toffee and wood smoke. The colour comes from the casks alone.
